Recovery

Talk about words with multiple meanings.

Maybe multiple contexts would be more precise.

In any case, recovery from surgery is an odd experience: times of elation and energy and then 3-hour naptimes; times of clarity and purpose and then times when the teaspoon of baking soda is dumped into the flour canister instead of the bowl where dry ingredients are being measured and mixed.

Thought I knew how to “listen to my body” — and what in the heck does that mean, anyway? — but I’m finding out that there are more “sounds” to hear and paying attention quickly is as important as hearing at all.

Sorry — no photos today. I’m sure you don’t want pix of my scar …
